Emergency Department Registered Nurse (Night Shift) – Travel Contract

Contract (13 Weeks) | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all age groups within a high-volume, Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center emergency department
• Manage a patient assignment with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 for critical and trauma patients to 1:3–4 for all other patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to deliver timely and effective emergency care
• Float to other units or facilities as needed to support staffing requirements
• Document patient care accurately and in accordance with facility protocols using the Meditech EMR system

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
• Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing under the highest level of professional RN licensure, including experience in a large hospital setting
• Trauma nursing experience required
• AHA or Red Cross ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale, TNCC, and SECURE (completed on-site) certifications required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume emergency department treating 60,000+ patients annually
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
• Experience floating across multiple units or hospital campuses
