Key Responsibilities
- Plan and provide total patient care through the nursing process, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs
- Administer and document nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards in an emergency room setting
- Direct and guide patient teaching to promote health education and recovery
- Supervise and coordinate activities of ancillary personnel to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Maintain standards of professional nursing practice throughout all patient interactions
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior emergency room nursing experience is preferred, though new graduates will be considered
- Familiarity with mandatory reporter requirements for child abuse and dependent adult abuse in Iowa
