Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient psychiatric nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 37-bed Behavioral Health unit with an average daily census of 30 patients
• Manage care for patients admitted from the ED and outside referrals who meet inpatient psychiatric admission criteria
• Administer and reconcile medications using Omnicell dispensing systems
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including social workers, recreational therapy, utilization review, pharmacy, respiratory services, radiology, and unit support staff
• Apply experience with seclusion protocols and voluntary/involuntary commitment procedures as needed
• Float within the hospital to like units as needed, remaining within scope of practice at all times

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health RN experience required
• Inpatient and locked-unit Behavioral Health experience required
• Experience with seclusion and voluntary/involuntary commitment required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:6 required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certification in Aggressive Management preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records preferred
