Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every other weekend required | No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a mixed-acuity inpatient overflow unit serving medical-surgical and step-down level patients
• Manage a patient population with short-stay admissions (less than 24-hour length of stay) requiring quick turnover and efficient care delivery
• Monitor patients via continuous hardwired bedside telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with charge nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members across day shift in a 20-bed unit environment
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Cerner EMR
• Float to other units within the facility as needed based on census and staffing demands

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
• Minimum 2 years of progressive care or PCU nursing experience
• Demonstrated telemetry competency
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent progressive care or step-down unit experience (within the past 1–2 years)
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Demonstrated ability to manage high patient turnover in a fast-paced environment
