Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | Nights | Onsite | Full-Time | Monday through Sunday rotation; every other weekend required; no block schedules

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Progressive Care/Telemetry unit as part of the Resource Float Team, rotating to appropriate units as needed
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses including Acute Coronary Syndrome, Heart Failure, hemodynamic instability, post-PTCA/stent, carotid surgery, thrombolytic therapy, and ETOH withdrawal requiring advanced monitoring
• Administer and titrate insulin drips, cardiac drips, inotropic, vasodilator, antiarrhythmic, and anti-platelet infusions
• Perform IV insertions, venipuncture, EKGs, and post cardiac catheterization care including arterial/venous sheath management
• Document accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system and administer medications via the MAK medication system
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1 and collaborate with CNA/PCT support staff and telemetry technicians

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license required at time of submission
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a telemetry or progressive care setting
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR within the past 2 years — required and non-negotiable
• Demonstrated competency with insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV insertion, and post cardiac cath care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with MAK medication administration system
• Experience in a Level 2 Trauma facility or similarly complex acute care environment
