Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on Medical Surgical Telemetry units serving oncology, orthopedic, urology, and ALC patient populations across multiple floors within a resource pool and float capacity
- Manage ED Hold patients in the Emergency department as part of the M/S Tele assignment
- Perform unit-specific procedures including IV insertion and management, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, and glucose monitoring
- Float between assigned telemetry units as scheduled to meet unit and patient care needs
- Work every other weekend and assigned holidays as required by the facility schedule
- Document accurately and consistently using the Epic electronic medical records system
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, including 1 year in a Medical Surgical Telemetry specialty
- Active New York State RN license, or documented proof of application with applied date, required at time of submission (NY licensing may take 6–8 weeks and will be considered in start date planning)
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start
- Reliable personal or rental transportation is strongly recommended; public transportation is not accessible in this area — vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) certification preferred
- Experience working in a resource pool or float pool capacity across multiple units
- Familiarity with MAK medication administration systems
