Key Responsibilities
- Administer physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist
- Evaluate, plan, and deliver treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing
- Ensure all treatment is delivered in accordance with an established plan of care
- Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and exercises
- Monitor and document patient response to treatment interventions
- Complete required forms and documentation in compliance with company policy and state/federal regulations
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT)
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to follow direction from a licensed Physical Therapist
- Empathy, patience, and physical stamina to assist patients with movement and therapeutic exercises
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Post-graduate experience working in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care (LTC) setting
- Familiarity with documentation and compliance requirements specific to skilled nursing environments
