Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to an adult and geriatric patient population in an acute care setting, including Adult Critical Care environments
- Perform airway management procedures including extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary hygiene
- Administer a broad range of inhaled medications via aerosol mask, trach setup, metered dose inhaler, and nebulizer devices including handheld, T-piece, and trach collar
- Manage and troubleshoot ventilatory support equipment including BiPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, trach collar oxygen therapy, and mechanical ventilation weaning
- Collect sputum specimens and perform related diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures
- Float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where documented competencies have been established
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in South Carolina required — no pending licenses accepted
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Trauma Level 1 experience required
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
- Must meet facility radius eligibility requirements to qualify for this travel assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Proficiency with a wide range of inhaled medications including albuterol, racemic epinephrine, pulmicort, xopenex, tobramycin, and related agents
- Experience with high flow nasal cannula, trach collar oxygen therapy, and advanced ventilator management
- Strong familiarity with adult critical care workflows and documentation standards
