Travel RN – Cardiac Step-Down / Surgical Stepdown Unit (CSSU), Night Shift

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3 shifts per week, 4 weekend shifts per month

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 15-bed Cardiac Surgical Stepdown Unit (CSSU) at a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level 2 Trauma Center, maintaining a 4:1 patient ratio
• Titrate vasoactive medications including levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, and dobutamine
• Monitor and manage patients with telemetry, utilizing GE Monitors and central monitor station oversight
• Perform and assist with unit procedures including chest tube removal, arterial line removal, temporary pacing, and pre-operative preparation for cardiovascular surgery
• Document accurately using Meditech Expanse and complete bedside shift reports with MyCare board updates each shift
• Collaborate with 1–2 LNA support staff and a dedicated mobility team; float on a rotation basis as needed (travelers float first)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (compact or NH state license)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a PCU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
• Strong telemetry skills
• Experience titrating vasoactive medications
• Chest tube experience
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with arterial lines
• Experience with Flo-Tracs
• Temporary pacing experience
