Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer a consortium-wide clinical education program ensuring regulatory compliance, required certifications, and staff competencies including BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NRP.
- Design, teach, and evaluate clinical training programs including human patient simulator training; serve as an internal training and organizational development consultant.
- Oversee the trauma registrar program across the consortium, supporting trauma designation compliance, registry maintenance, and trauma education at all designation sites.
- Lead and supervise the clinical education team; partner with site and department managers to identify education needs, develop competencies, and coordinate planned educational programs for nursing staff.
- Oversee the IHS Emergency Pediatric Hybrid Program and coordinate scheduling of class instructors throughout the consortium.
- Participate in Nurse Executive Committee meetings, contribute to nursing service goal setting, and collaborate with performance improvement and learning leadership to develop and implement action plans.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Alaska required at time of submittal.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum 3 years of professional clinical instructor experience.
- Minimum 5 years of professional nursing experience, including at least 2 years as a staff RN in a specialty area (ER, ICU, OB, or OR).
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Active certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS; proof of flu vaccine required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC instructor certification preferred.
- Prior Emergency Room, trauma, and/or remote rural nursing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Alaska State Trauma Program requirements and trauma registrar processes.
