Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a busy community Emergency Department serving an adult and pediatric population, ranging from neonate to geriatric
• Manage patient assignments that may include boarded patients, psychiatric patients, and COVID-positive patients within the general assignment
• Independently start IVs, perform EKGs, administer respiratory treatments, and manage drips prepared by pharmacy
• Work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 or higher based on census volume; must be comfortable with ratios exceeding 1:4 in a high-volume community setting
• Utilize Epic for all clinical documentation; use Pyxis for medication management
• Charge nurse responsibilities required; must be prepared to take charge as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license, or documented proof of application with applied date, required at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room clinical experience
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required; TNCC must be active or proof of enrollment prior to start; NIHSS must be completed prior to start date
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
• Must be able to work a rotating schedule including every other weekend minimum and holidays; no block scheduling available
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required; public transportation is not accessible in this area; all-season or snow tires recommended November through April

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
