Contract | Days | 5x8-Hour Shifts | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Administer IV chemotherapy, including bladder installations, and monitor patients for treatment response and abnormal lab values
- Manage implanted port care, PICC line care, central line blood draws, peripheral IV insertion, and blood product administration
- Operate Alaris and CADD infusion pumps and lab centrifuge equipment in a structured oncology setting
- Provide care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, gynecologic, prostate, pancreatic, and hematologic cancers, as well as chronic conditions such as MS, rheumatoid arthritis, and MDS
- Perform SQ/IM injections, Foley catheter insertions, and coordinate care with pharmacy, social services, and unit support staff
- Deliver patient and family education and psychosocial support throughout the care continuum
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Ohio license pending is acceptable, but Michigan license must be in hand if applicable
- BLS certification required (AHA)
- ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience in inpatient or outpatient oncology
- Proficiency with Epic Beacon documentation; Epic charting experience is required
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- Floating to other units or facilities as needed is an expectation for all travel clinicians
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Familiarity with Alaris and CADD infusion pump operation
- Prior experience caring for patients with hematologic malignancies such as lymphomas, multiple myeloma, or chronic leukemias
- Background in care coordination within a multidisciplinary oncology team
