Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool)

Contract | Days, 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Float Pool

Key Responsibilities

• Float between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across multiple metro campuses as needed — this is a float pool position and no home unit will be assigned
• Provide direct patient care in telemetry, cardiac, neuro stepdown, and medical/surgical settings with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias; provide telemetry monitoring on the unit
• Care for patients presenting with conditions including sepsis, stroke, renal failure, GI bleed, AFIB, ETOH, SI, wound care, and COVID
• Perform pre/post cardiac catheterization care and respond to emergent situations
• Take on holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit; expected 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license — both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) required at time of submission
• Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience in Med/Surg, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, and neuro stepdown work settings
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with sheath removal (cardiovascular)
• Feeding tube care and management
• IV therapy skills including port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management
