Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Overtime may be available after 48 hours
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications via a variety of routes and provide wound, line, and drain care
- Document care plans and clinical findings using Epic EMR
- Operate unit equipment including Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vitals machines
- Float across multiple Med-Surg units and campuses within the Med-Surg cluster, including specialty units such as oncology, cardiac, neuro, trauma, observation, and medical behavioral
- Call in daily to confirm unit assignment for each shift; nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4–5 (days/evenings) to 1:5–6 (nights)
Required Qualifications
- Active North Dakota RN license or Compact State RN license required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical experience in a large, high-volume hospital (minimum 200 beds)
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience in a Level 2 or higher trauma center required
- Willingness to float within the Med-Surg cluster and between campuses
- Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be considered at a local travel rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous float pool or resource pool experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a hospital with 250 or more beds
- First-time travelers with a primary background in Resource Pool or Float Pool may be considered
