Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days (6:45 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction with minimal supervision, including coverage in PICU, NICU, and Pediatric ER
- Perform patient assessments and institute individualized respiratory care plans across all hospital areas
- Manage airway support including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, BiPAP/CPAP devices, ventilator setup and operation, and airway retaining device placement and maintenance
- Conduct diagnostic and technical procedures including blood gas collection and analysis, EKG analysis, chest film analysis, and delivery of aerosolized drugs
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation; clean and stock equipment and supplies as necessary; participate in CAP and Joint Commission surveys
- May serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader; advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management (INO, HeO2), pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, polysomnography, and transport duties
Required Qualifications
- Active RT or RCP License in the state of Texas required
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by NBRC required
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- PALS certification required (American Heart Association only)
- NRP certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 1–3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
- Experience working in PICU, NICU, or Pediatric Emergency settings strongly preferred
- Familiarity with advanced respiratory modalities such as INO, HeO2, waveform analysis, and nocturnal SpO2 evaluation
