Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 8-Week Assignment | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor critically ill patients using bedside and remote monitoring devices to track heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels
- Administer medications and continuous infusions including non-titrated vasoactive agents, anti-arrhythmic agents, platelet inhibitors, and insulin; monitor patients for medication effects
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring including equipment setup, troubleshooting, and recognition of signs and symptoms of patient instability
- Assess and manage ventilated patients, including long-term mechanical ventilation and weaning, as well as non-invasive oxygen delivery systems such as BiPAP and nasal CPAP
- Monitor and manage patients requiring renal therapeutic interventions such as hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous bladder irrigation, stents, and urostomies
- Educate patients and families to support transition from hospital to home, including recognizing family needs for greater care involvement
Required Qualifications
- Active Missouri LPN license or multi-state compact license — must be included with submission
- IV Certification — must be included with submission
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association — must be included with submission
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
- Demonstrated competency in dysrhythmia monitoring, interpretation, and treatment
- Ability to interpret ABGs and communicate findings appropriately
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an LTAC or critical care setting
- Experience with patient monitoring during procedures such as cardiac catheterization, bronchoscopy, cardioversion, or TEE
- Familiarity with enteral and parenteral nutrition indications and complications
- Strong clinical judgment, advocacy, and collaborative practice skills
