Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical Telemetry (Resource Pool / Float)

Contract | Nights | Monday–Sunday rotation; every other weekend required; no block schedules

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on Medical-Surgical Telemetry units serving oncology, orthopedic, urology, and ALC patient populations across multiple floors
• Float across assigned telemetry units as scheduled to meet unit and patient care needs
• Care for ED Hold patients in the Emergency department as part of the resource pool float assignment
• Perform unit-specific procedures including IV insertion and management, bladder scans, blood draws from central lines, and glucose monitoring
• Complete NIHSS certification prior to start date
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation using the Epic electronic medical records system

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted New York State RN license — must be on file at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Medical-Surgical Telemetry
• AHA BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years — required and non-negotiable
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended; public transportation is not accessible in this area; all-season or snow tires recommended November through April

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CMSRN certification preferred
• Experience with MAK medication administration system
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and ED Hold patient management
• Experience in a Trauma Level 2 facility
