Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on Activities of Daily Living (ADL), range of motion (ROM), strength, and functional restoration as prescribed by physicians
- Develop, implement, and document individualized written occupational therapy plans of care, including orthotics fabrication, sensory integration, psychosocial functioning, and upper extremity motor treatment
- Collaborate with nursing staff, interdisciplinary team members, and community agencies to deliver coordinated, comprehensive rehabilitative care and discharge planning
- Serve as an activities consultant for Long Term Care and hospital units, providing guidance on planning and conducting therapeutic activity programs for individuals and groups
- Conduct in-service training for hospital staff, orient personnel to occupational therapy goals, and contribute to staff education and professional development
- Maintain accurate treatment records, collect statistical data, and ensure compliance with HIPAA, The Joint Commission (TJC), and applicable federal and state regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Hawaii Occupational Therapist license (or ability to obtain promptly)
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic assessments and develop individualized treatment plans across a diverse patient population
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings, including Long Term Care
- Familiarity with orthotics design, fabrication, and fitting
- Experience providing culturally sensitive care and applying age-specific treatment approaches
- Prior involvement in Joint Commission (TJC) compliance, Performance Improvement, or Infection Control activities
