Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during a given shift, assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
• Assist the Director of Nursing in achieving organizational and department-specific goals and objectives
• Serve as a resource for the unit and act as quality management coordinator
• Provide administrative backup support in the absence of the Director
• Participate in patient/resident and family teaching and work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain resident/patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with facility policies and standards

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (2-year college program) or higher
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience
• Active State of Maine RN license or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Local travelers are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility setting
• Previous charge nurse or supervisory nursing experience
• Familiarity with quality management processes in a nursing environment
