Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU/IMC/Stepdown setting with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, including identification and management of dysrhythmias
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), heparin protocols, and IV insulin protocols
• Perform and oversee central line, PICC line, peripheral line, and port access care and management
• Provide respiratory support including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), external CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy management, and ABG interpretation
• Fulfill weekend, holiday, and charge RN assignments as needed; regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (pending license accepted); must hold both Kansas and Missouri licensure or a compact license at time of submission due to floating requirements
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Proficiency in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown clinical skills including telemetry monitoring, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, post MI care, and renal/hemodialysis management
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), surgical drains, wound care/wound vac, blood product administration, and isolation precautions
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with PCA management and feeding tube care
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system (EPIC test-out option available)
• Prior travel nursing experience in a stepdown or progressive care environment
