Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Expected 36 hours/week (48 hours/week may be available)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry acute care setting with a 1:5 or 1:6 patient ratio
• Monitor and assess patients on telemetry, identifying and responding to changes in condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Float to other units or hospital locations as needed
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• NURSYS verification required
• AHA BLS certification or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry; candidates with at least 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license and a minimum of 1 year of recent specialty experience may be considered
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospital locations

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Comfort working in a high-acuity telemetry environment with varying patient loads
