Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Circulate in all surgical specialty areas, which may include Orthopedics, ENT, GYN/OB, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Dental
- Obtain and develop scrubbing experience across specialty areas
- Prepare for and respond to emergency surgical cases on short notice, including varied and on-call hours
- Maintain required certifications throughout the duration of employment, including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CNOR, and TNCC
Required Qualifications
- Valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory — an Arizona state license is not required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing and/or operating room experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association — required at time of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association — required at time of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association — required within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification — required within 6 months of hire
- Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) by the Competency and Credentialing Institute — required within 1 year of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) — required within 2 years of hire
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience circulating across multiple surgical specialties
- Scrub technician experience or willingness to develop scrubbing skills
- Comfort working in a culturally diverse community setting
