Travel Medical Laboratory Scientist – ER Lab / FSED (Point of Care Testing)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks (extension to 26 weeks may be available) | Thursday – Saturday, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Nights

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Point of Care (POC) testing within a freestanding emergency department lab setting
• Support FSED operations by performing clerical duties as assigned by nursing and lab leadership
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in alignment with laboratory and facility standards
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment used for POC and clinical testing
• Collaborate with emergency department staff to ensure efficient patient care workflows

Required Qualifications

• ASCP certification required (MLS, CLS, or MT – Medical Technologist)
• Full licensure required — associate-level credentials are not accepted for this role
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or equivalent
• Must hold a full, unrestricted credential — not an associate-level certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Point of Care testing in an emergency or high-acuity setting
• Familiarity with freestanding emergency department (FSED) lab operations
• Ability to adapt to varied workflows and support multidisciplinary teams
