Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a telemetry/step-down unit with an expected nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; must pass a facility-proctored EKG exam requiring at least 85% overall accuracy and 100% accuracy in identifying critical rhythms
• Manage IV cardiac medications and continuous infusions for a telemetry patient population
• Participate in stroke care and management, applying CVA protocols as appropriate
• Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
• Float within the facility as needed, consistent with individual skill set

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN License — must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required (may be obtained prior to start date)
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent telemetry or step-down experience
• Proficiency with Epic for clinical documentation
• Flu vaccine or approved exemption required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — candidates with a permanent address in the following counties are not accepted: Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, or Ulster

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with critical drips and CVA/stroke patient management
• Familiarity with stroke care protocols and continuous infusion management
• Multiple years of telemetry or step-down RN experience beyond the minimum requirement
