Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to a patient population including neonates, adolescents, and adults in a Labor and Delivery setting encompassing Triage, LDR, OR, NICU, and Post-Partum areas
- Perform and interpret external fetal monitoring, including recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Circulate for C-section procedures as needed
- Float to Perinatal unit when required based on staffing needs
- Participate in mandatory on-call shifts, expected approximately 2 times per month in addition to scheduled shifts; may be placed on call if not needed for a scheduled shift
- Utilize unit systems including SBAR, Omnicell, and eMD Allscripts; Epic EMR proficiency is required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required
- Active California RN license required at time of submission
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced — must be included with submission
- Must be willing to work most holidays; expected 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
- Advanced EKG exam required prior to start (onsite, 20 questions including 17 rhythm strips; 80% minimum passing score; two attempts permitted — failure results in assignment cancellation)
- Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with both low and high-risk Labor and Delivery cases
- Familiarity with OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia collaborative care environments
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
