Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (MS/TELE)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays as required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry acute care setting with a 1:5 or 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and assess patients on telemetry, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Meditech EMR
• Float to other units or hospital locations as needed to support staffing requirements
• Adhere to facility dress code: solid navy scrubs required

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license — no temporary licenses accepted
• NURSYS verification required
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry; candidates with at least 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional licensure and a minimum of 1 year of recent specialty experience may be considered
• Willingness to float to other units and hospital locations as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Experience working in a high-acuity acute care or telemetry environment
