Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity nursing care to PCU-level patients on a Medical Oncology Telemetry unit, including patients with solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias using GE telemetry systems; manage cardiac drips and titrate as required
• Perform and manage central line care, PICC line management, port access, peripheral IV insertion, and blood product administration
• Operate and manage specialized equipment including Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, continuous bladder irrigation, chest tubes, external CPAP/BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
• Implement and maintain strict infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention measures
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as required based on staffing needs

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU-level experience
• Valid RN license (compact or state-specific) required at time of submission; must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Active certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation, heparin protocols, tracheostomy management, ABG interpretation, and feeding tube care and management
• Ability to manage cardiac drips, PCA pumps, and respiratory support modalities including CPAP/BiPAP and HFNC
• Ability to meet compliance deadlines, including timely completion of state fingerprinting requirements upon contract signing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Oncology nursing experience, including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Skills in arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, insulin drip titration, phlebotomy, and surgical drain management
• Experience with non-invasive airway management and management of dysrhythmias
