Sterile Processing Technician

Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours | 5:00–13:30 | Monday through Friday with occasional scheduled holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of all items including drills, robotic surgical instruments, and scopes
• Carry out sterilization processes using Sterrad and steam sterilization methods
• Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing
• Manage sterile storage and serve as OR Liaison across multiple floors of surgery
• Utilize Censitrac tracking system to manage instrument tracking
• Move case carts, separate soiled items, and fill case cart needs for next-day surgical cases

Required Qualifications

• Active CBSPD or CRCST certification (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM) required
• Experience across all areas of a sterile processing department
• Proficiency with HLD and scope reprocessing procedures
• Ability to respond to OR calls and support surgical floors as needed
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references)
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Censitrac or similar instrument tracking systems
• OR Liaison experience in a high-volume surgical environment
• Familiarity with robotic surgical instrument decontamination (e.g., da Vinci system)
