Registered Nurse – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

Contract | 3x12-hour shifts, expected 36 hours/week | Rotating Days and Nights (schedule rotates every 4 weeks)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical ICU setting with patient ratios of 1:1–2
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients experiencing conditions such as multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure
• Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment including NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV Pump, GE Cardiac Monitor, and GE Ventilator
• Perform and document care using the EPIC electronic health records system (required)
• Administer IV therapy and manage telemetry monitoring
• Support specialized unit procedures including continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU (MICU) experience required
• Valid RN compact or state license — must be in hand at time of submission
• EPIC experience required
• BCLS certification required (AHA only)
• ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• NIHSS certification required (AHA only)
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience
• Specialized experience with COVID, multisystem organ failure, and post-cardiac arrest care
• Familiarity with NxStage CRRT and Alaris IV pump systems
• Experience with continuous glucose monitoring protocols in a critical care environment
