Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct nursing care activities for clients on the behavioral health unit, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Accurately and promptly implement physician orders; prepare, administer, and document medications in accordance with established policies
• Monitor clients and document appropriately according to risk precaution level; maintain a safe environment by continuously monitoring for harmful contraband
• Conduct group therapies as assigned and participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning, revising the plan of care based on ongoing assessment
• Make nursing assignments appropriate to staff skill level and provide direction to other personnel involved in client care
• Maintain CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification — required for this role

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current, active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification required
• Experience working with adult patients (18 years of age and older)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, or equivalent years of clinical experience
• Experience with electronic health record systems, including Meditech
• Proficiency with standard office equipment and MS Office applications
