Cardiovascular OR Surgical Technologist (CVOR Tech)

Everett, WA | Acute Care – Level II Trauma Center
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | At least 10 call shifts per month required (call window: 5:00 PM – 6:30 AM) | 1–2 weekends per month required | Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform as singular scrub technologist for cardiothoracic surgical cases including CABG, AVR, AAA, MVR, minimally invasive valve procedures, VATS, Mediastinoscopy, RATS, and CVL support with carotid cutdowns and laser lead standby
- Float to the general OR as needed to support a daily average surgical case volume of approximately 55 cases
- Assist with flexible endoscope reprocessing, including bronchoscopes, EGD scopes, and EBUS
- Participate in on-call rotation, including evenings, nights, and weekends as scheduled
- Document and chart using EPIC electronic health records system
Required Qualifications
- Active Washington State Surgical Technologist license (compact license must be in hand at time of submission; pending license accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of surgical technologist experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Required procedural competencies: General, Cardiovascular/Thoracic, and Laparoscopic surgery
- Must be available for at least 10 call shifts per month and 1–2 weekend shifts per month
- Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility — local candidates are not accepted
- Must submit all requested time off (RTO) at the time of submission; post-offer RTO requests may not be considered
- 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NBSTSA certification preferred
- Experience with adolescent patient populations preferred
- Preferred procedural experience: OB/GYN, Plastic, ENT, Urology, Robotic, Orthopedics (including total joints), Neuro/Cranial, and Transplant
- Flexible endoscope reprocessing experience, particularly with bronchoscopes, EGD scopes, and EBUS
