Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns in a Mother Baby unit
- Monitor maternal and neonatal recovery following delivery, identifying and responding to changes in condition
- Educate new mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, patient-centered outcomes
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and care plans accurately and in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (or compact equivalent) valid in the state of Texas
- BLS certification required
- Prior experience in a Mother Baby or Postpartum nursing setting
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a high-volume labor and delivery or postpartum unit
- Familiarity with newborn assessment and lactation support
- Previous travel nursing experience
