As a Manager/Director in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will play a critical role in shaping the future of patient care. You will develop and maintain strong partnerships with patients, families, and caregivers, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes optimal care. With a strong focus on delegation, facilitation, and critical thinking, you will lead a team of healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care.
Overview
In this leadership position, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing care plans that meet the unique needs of patients and their families
- Facilitating effective communication among healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery
- Managing care environments to promote patient safety and well-being
- Mentoring and guiding nurses to optimize their skills and knowledge
- Collaborating with physicians and other stakeholders to drive quality improvement initiatives
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree within three years of employment (or grandfathered eligibility for those hired prior to 12/1/17)
- Valid Indiana Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR certification
- 2-3 years of experience in a specialty area (e.g., pediatrics, neonatology)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Additional certifications in areas such as critical care, pediatric advanced life support, or neonatal resuscitation
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
- Strong leadership and management skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology systems
Other Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and professional development
