Therapist - Physical Therapy Assistant

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans for patients with various physical disabilities or injuries. • Conduct patient assessments, including evaluating range of motion, strength, and mobility. • Implement exercises and modalities, such as heat or cold therapy, to aid in patient recovery. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans. • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Required Qualifications:
• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant Studies or related field. • Certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the state of Connecticut. • Current CPR/AED certification. • Basic life support certification.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
• Experience working in a hospital or rehabilitation setting. • Knowledge of various physical therapy modalities, including electrical stimulation and manual therapy. • Ability to lift patients weighing up to 50 pounds. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
