• Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location
• Columbus, OH
Schedule / Job Type
• Nights, 13-16 week contract, rotating shifts available
Key Responsibilities
• Provide patient care in a high-acuity inpatient unit, including specialized units such as Oncology, Hematology, and Surgical Oncology.
• Float between MedSurg and PCU/Oncology units, covering units like BMT, Acute Leukemia, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, and Colorectal.
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and patient safety standards, including fall prevention.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver individualized patient care plans.
• Adhere to hospital policies while managing a patient load with staffing ratios typically at 1:3, with potential for 1:4 or 1:5 depending on acuity.
• Complete comprehensive bedside orientation and demonstrate independence following initial training.
Required Qualifications
• Valid RN license in state of practice
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in high-acuity PCU or equivalent units
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Experience with specialty procedures and oncology units preferred but not required
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Oncology care experience is advantageous but not mandatory
• Ability to adapt to floating across different units and patient populations
• Strong patient safety focus and infection control knowledge
