- Travel, Full-time, 13-week assignment, Days shift (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to orthopedic patients on a busy hospital unit.
- Perform procedures such as dressing changes, suture and staple removal, Foley catheter care, NG tube management, and wound vac maintenance.
- Assist with patient mobility and use of various medical equipment including beds, commodes, bladder scanners, and lifts.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure patient needs are met and care is delivered efficiently.
- Document patient care accurately using electronic medical records (Cerner).
- Adhere to unit policies, dress code, and safety guidelines, including certification and licensing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in hospital or orthopedic settings
- Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts (days), with flexibility for weekends and on-call as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior hospital experience in orthopedic or medical-surgical units
- Experience with EMR systems, specifically Cerner
- Knowledge of orthopedic procedures and patient mobility aids
