• Registered Nurse - Oncology

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized nursing care for oncology and hematology patients in a mixed acuity unit, including chemotherapy administration and blood product management.
• Float to various stepdown/advanced care units as needed, demonstrating flexibility across different patient care settings.
• Meet patient ratios of approximately 1:4 to 1:5-6 while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Complete competency assessments, including online EKG tele skills, and interpret strips confidently.
• Adhere to infection control protocols, including N95 fit testing and PPE requirements, especially on high-risk units.
• Use EPIC electronic health records for documentation and coordinate care effectively within the multidisciplinary team.

Required Qualifications
• Valid RN license in any state (compact license accepted; new licenses can be obtained within 5-10 days).
• Minimum of 1.5 years of recent, relevant nursing experience in a stepdown or intensive care setting.
• Experience with SD/PCU units, with documented 1:5 ratio experience in work history.
• Ability to pass online EKG tele competency assessment prior to start.
• Current BLS & ACLS certifications, with ability to read and interpret EKG strips.
• Fit-tested for N95 respirator or PAPR device prior to working in high-risk units.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior experience with oncology patients, including chemotherapy administration and sickle cell care.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Travel nursing experience is preferred.
• Ability to float across high-risk respiratory units and COVID support areas.

Travel and Other Requirements
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday.
• Responsible for completing required compliance and assessment modules during orientation.
• Compliant with travel documentation, including lab work and EKG exams within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Must be flexible to float across multiple campus locations within the local area.
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 14 days and must be specified at application submission.
• No references required at the time of application.

Unit Details
• A 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit specializing in comprehensive oncology and hematology patient care.
• Handles complex cases involving chemotherapy, blood products, drips, wound care, and other advanced nursing skills.
• Nursing team members are ONS-certified to administer chemotherapy medications.
• Uniform: Navy blue scrubs.
