Key Responsibilities
- Implement and oversee the organization’s risk management program in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Direct and manage the organization-wide patient safety initiatives, including safety assessments, Root Cause Analyses (RCA), and Failure Mode Effects Analyses (FMEA).
- Investigate adverse incidents, coordinate disclosures, and ensure appropriate follow-up with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Educate staff, management, and physicians on risk management and patient safety best practices.
- Participate in quality improvement processes, including chart audits and clinical reviews, to support accreditation efforts.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory standards such as DNV, TJC, CMS, and CARF, ensuring organizational compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or eligible to apply before start date.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) within two years of hire.
- Clinical competency demonstrated within 3 months of start and every three years thereafter.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in risk management, patient safety, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership skills in facilitating cross-functional teams and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
