Key Responsibilities
- Conduct screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, brief therapy, and ongoing care for patients across all ages, from birth to elderly.
- Facilitate or co-facilitate patient care conferences and develop discharge plans for transitional or long-term care placements.
- Provide clinical support for mental health, chemical dependency, and appropriate referrals.
- Collaborate with hospital teams and community partners to coordinate services and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Advocate for clients, assist with skill-building, and support complex matters such as Power of Attorney when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation per state, federal, accreditation, and billing standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contribute to treatment plan development, and help integrate new practices.
- Complete billing and administrative duties as assigned, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with law and policy.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Licensed or in the process of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years thereafter.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Knowledge of discharge planning, crisis intervention, and interviewing techniques.
- Familiarity with documentation regulations for accreditation and billing purposes.
- Ability to perform case management with tact, discretion, and independent judgment.
- Experience in working with diverse patient populations and in multidisciplinary teams.
