Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal periods.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and perform obstetric procedures, including assisting with bedside exams and obstetric interventions.
• Support high-risk maternal and neonatal patients, including stabilization and transfer coordination.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

• Valid and active Registered Nurse license in Alaska or eligible for licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of obstetric nursing practices, fetal monitoring, and emergency response.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in labor and delivery or obstetric nursing.
• Proficiency with medical equipment such as fetal monitors and EKG machines.
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
