Key Responsibilities
• Perform a variety of cardiac diagnostic imaging procedures, including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, stress tests, and Doppler studies, in accordance with current standards and departmental protocols.
• Conduct additional cardiac diagnostics such as EKGs, Holter monitoring, and stress testing, ensuring accurate execution and documentation.
• Operate specialized equipment like echocardiograph machines, stress systems, and electrocardiographs to gather diagnostic information for cardiologists.
• Manage hospital information systems for scheduling, processing, and billing of studies, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Adhere to infection control procedures, including aseptic techniques and equipment disinfection, to ensure patient and staff safety.
• Collaborate with students and trainees, providing clinical instruction and supervision as per contractual agreements.
• Perform age-specific cardiac testing on neonatal and pediatric patients, demonstrating technical skill and compassionate care.
• Uphold all other duties within scope, maintaining professionalism and high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer credential
• Successful completion of a certification program in cardiovascular sonography or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in echocardiography, preferably in a hospital setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Extensive experience performing pediatric and neonatal echocardiograms
• Proven ability to operate and interpret a wide range of cardiac diagnostic equipment
• Strong knowledge of hospital and information systems related to diagnostic testing
