Physical Therapy Assistant
Location: Gainesville, MO
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Days, 5 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Evaluate, plan, and administer treatments to residents and patients with disabilities to relieve pain, restore function, and promote healing.
- Record treatments given and note patient progress in medical records.
- Support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy activities.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and adjust care as needed.
- Complete required documentation following company policies and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
- Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Empathy, patience, and physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Prior clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Knowledge of documentation protocols and regulatory compliance.
