- Full-time, Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to telemetry patients, including monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications, including titrated drips such as Cardizem and Heparin, as required.
- Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and other staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Read and interpret telemetry strips from Phillips monitors.
- Assist with troubleshooting RT equipment, including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems, especially in COVID-19 cases.
- Support patient safety and comfort during complex medical procedures such as pacemaker or AICD placements, lung surgeries, and chest tube management.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license or confirmed initiation of licensure application process.
- BLS certification; ACLS recommended.
- Ability to interpret EKG rhythms and titrate IV drips (e.g., Cardizem, Heparin).
- Basic nursing skills, including medication administration and patient assessment.
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a telemetry or cardiac unit.
- Knowledge of ventilator equipment and troubleshooting, including CPAP and BiPAP therapy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in high-acuity settings.
