Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care during assigned shifts, ensuring safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient needs, interventions, and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and documenting accurately.
• Recognize and respond to deteriorating patient conditions, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:7.
• Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as assigned.
• Float between departments or local locations within 20 miles as required.
• Care for medically complex patients in a long-term stay setting and for Med/Surg level patients without direct ICU escalation.
• Participate in on-call and callback coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in an 18+ bed telemetry or progressive care unit.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
• Successful completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Must pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered onsite; re-test opportunities are limited, and failure after re-test results in contract cancellation.
• Valid nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a compact license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR.
• Ability to adapt to varying clinical settings and patient needs.
