Job Title
• Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities
• Provide urgent and comprehensive nursing care to ER patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
• Manage a wide variety of patient conditions including minor complaints to critical trauma cases.
• Titrate and monitor a variety of IV drips such as vasopressors, cardiac drugs, antihypertensives, and more.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, mid-level providers, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Respond swiftly to emergency situations, including cardiac arrests, strokes, and trauma cases in a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Required Qualifications
• Active Illinois RN license or strong indication that application has been initiated.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, ENPC or PALS, TNCC or TNS.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, ideally in emergency or critical care settings.
• Experience with IV titrations including vasopressors and cardiac drips.
• Ability to interpret rhythm strips and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Knowledge of hospital protocols including trauma and emergency care.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Previous travel nursing experience in emergency departments.
• SANE RN experience highly preferred.
• Experience working in a teaching hospital with residents and attending physicians.
• Proficiency with Phillips monitors and troubleshooting advanced respiratory equipment such as vents and CPAP/BiPAP.
