Registered Nurse (Med Surg)

Location: Springfield, IL

Schedule / Job Type: Nights, Full-Time (3x12-hour shifts per week)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide bedside care to patients in a 23-bed Medical Surgical unit during night shifts.
• Manage PICC line insertions, IV starts, and patient assessments.
• Document patient care using Cerner electronic charting system.
• Float within scope to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to deliver quality patient outcomes.
• Adhere to hospital policies and patient safety standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois RN license (or in application process with ETA).
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• BLS and NIH certifications.
• Must have experience managing PICC lines and starting IVs.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Experience with Cerner charting preferred.
• Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Must have active IL license in hand at submission or be in application process.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Previous charge nurse experience.
• Familiarity with hospital policies on floating and block scheduling.
• RQI certification is a plus.
