Registered Nurse Medical Surgical/Tele

Job Title

• MedSurg Tele RN Nights (13-week contract with possible extension)

• Chesapeake, VA

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, 3x12s per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to neurology/stroke patients in a MedSurg/Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and patient data
• Start IVs and manage patient assessments
• Document patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patient safety and quality care
• Adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Active VA or compact nursing license in hand (no exceptions)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications via American Heart Association
• EPIC proficiency (no exceptions)
• Minimum of 2 years recent Telemetry/Neurology or Stroke experience
• Valid Qualivis Cover Sheet and current NURSYS report included
• US travel experience required; compact or VA license preferred
• Current address must be within 50 miles of Chesapeake, VA, for travel compliance
• Must include RTO requests with submission and be approved on a case-by-case basis
• No prior license or background hits; strict compliance required
• Successful completion of EKG exam (80% or higher), no remediation
• P/F (Fit Test) for CRH compliance, no history of fit test issues

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with neuro patients and telemetry interpretation
• Proven ability to work nights and handle a 1:7 patient ratio
• Familiarity with hospital protocols and electronic medical records
