• Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 nights per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to adult and pediatric patients in a busy ER setting
• Manage a wide spectrum of acute conditions including respiratory, neurological, cardiac, and trauma cases
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and procedures such as intubation and chest tube management
• Interpret diagnostic tests including ABGs and EKGs, and respond to emergent situations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, effective patient care
• Follow strict protocols on isolation, triage, and safety precautions

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years recent ER experience in a similar setting
• Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Missouri or eligible for licensure
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, PALS
• Ability to work night shifts and perform floating within scope across ER departments and other SLHS facilities
• Experience with EPIC charting system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric ER cases, including management of abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, poisoning, and seizures
• Experience with procedural sedation and medication administration for emergencies
• Knowledge of stroke, STEMI, and multisystem organ failure management
• Competence in managing ventilated patients, dysrhythmias, and central line care

Additional Details

• Travel considerations: floating between departments and facilities within Missouri and Kansas as needed; valid travel documentation required
• Orientation modules and EPIC training must be completed prior to start
• Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week schedule with possibility of additional shifts and charge RN assignments
• No holiday or on-call shifts required, but flexibility may be needed for holiday staffing and charge roles
