Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Title
• Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Orthopedics & Spine Specialty)

Location
• Overland Park, KS

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, 13-week assignment, dayshift, onsite

Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a fast-paced orthopedic and neuro-intensive unit.
• Administer medications, monitor patient progress, and assist with procedures such as wound care and dressings.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and radiology.
• Utilize mobile communication tools for efficient unit coordination and patient privacy.
• Adhere to unit policies, including shift rotations and dress code (royal blue scrubs).

Required Qualifications
• Valid Kansas RN license.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience, specifically in Med/Surg or Tele units.
• Experience with traction, external fixators, halos, gait belts, bed alarms, and telemetry monitoring preferred.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• NIH certification.
• Experience treating orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, strokes, and traumas.
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records system.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
