• Full-time, temporary/contract, night shifts, 3x12 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the IMC, PCU, and Stepdown units, including cardiac monitoring, post-procedure care, and managing complex cardiovascular cases.
• Interpret dysrhythmias, manage telemetry monitoring both on-site and remotely, and respond to emergency situations rapidly.
• Perform advanced IV therapies, including port access, arterial lines, blood product administration, and central line care.
• Manage diverse cases such as post-cardiac catheterization, post-MI, dialysis, and gastrointestinal feeding tube care.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using Cerner electronic charting system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes with a focus on safety and quality care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois nursing license (must be active at the time of application).
• Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in ICU, PCU, Stepdown, or related cardiopulmonary units.
• AC LS and BLS certification.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response.
• Experience with Cerner charting system.
• Ability to float within scope to meet unit needs.
• Willingness to work every other weekend.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level I Trauma center experience.
• Previous charge nurse experience.
• Familiarity with surgical drains, chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, and high-flow oxygen devices.
• Teaching hospital experience.
